The museum opened in September 2008 near the port of Adamas, in the old Community building of the island. The museum owes a lot to Doctor Peter Armenis who tried hard to gather numerous exhibits relating to the naval activity of Milos. The exhibits go back to the prehistoric age, with tools made of obsidian, then they move historically to the battle of Salamis and finally reach modern times. In the Museum you can also admire rare maps made by special cartographers as well as the wooden boat “Irene”.
